Award-winning visual journalist and freelance artist Andrew Long has been creating clear, compelling visuals for professional publications since 1999. Andrew's informational graphics appear in the Arizona Republic , a 450,000 circulation daily newspaper in Phoenix, Arizona. At the Republic, Andrew is a senior news artist attached to the A1 team of the First Amendment Center. He is responsible for creating and editing most of the graphics that appear in the front-page section of the Republic. He specializes in information design, terrain mapping and nontraditional storytelling. Andrew also uses Flash and Flex to create interactive graphics for azcentral.com. Andrew is an associate faculty member at Arizona State University where he teaches online media. He is available to teach workshops on information design and media trends. Andrew's editorial cartoons have appeared in the Z Magazine, Ahwatukee Foothills News, Chandler Connection and East Valley Tribune. As a regular member of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists, Andrew's cartoons were featured in the 2004 AAEC book "Attack of the Political Cartoonists", available at major booksellers.
